The TED-Ed website offers free, engaging videos about theories and research that appeal to students all across the world. TED-Ed seeks to support and stimulate knowledge- and idea-sharing among educators and students worldwide. Every TED Talk is the result of the collaboration of academic researchers, scientific writers, historians, journalists, editors, designers, animators, screenwriters, directors, and educators. The animated videos that make up the TED-Ed Lessons include questions and resources to encourage further research. TED-Ed fosters learning through the creation of a growing video lesson library, a global platform for teachers to design their own interactive lesson plans, assisting inquisitive students all over the world in bringing TED to their schools and developing presentation literacy, or by recognizing innovative leadership within TED-global Ed's network of over 250,000 teachers. The story of Anne Frank presented by the TED-Ed Lessons is a summerised version of the story of a Jewish girl who found love and hope even in moments of fear and sadness. Author Brad Meltzer and Holocaust survivor Saul Dreier read the book “I Am Anne Frank.” A typical young girl, Anne Frank grew up in the midst of World War Two. Because Anne and her family were Jews, the Nazis discriminated against and hated them. So Anne and her family were forced to flee from people who wanted to harm them. The site could be used with students at risk of demotivation because the activities are completely adapted to this kind of students using non formal education methodology and its activities could be adapted to fully virtual or blended.

Step-by-step description:
1. The teacher introduces the topic and elicits from them what they know about Anne Frank.
2. The teacher invites students to take a virtual tour of the Secret Annex (https://www.annefrank.org/en/anne-frank/secret-annex/) and virtually walk around the rooms, discover the secret places and learn more about how each room was an important part of Anne's story.
3. The students are invited to watch the videoclip and do the embedded tasks.
4. The teacher encourages students to watch the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCg5KlkYKKY/https://ed.ted.com/best_of_web/K5x91XeP) and have a talk about Anne’diary. This video tells the story behind the diary, what writing meant to Anne, and how the diary became world famous. When Anne had to go into hiding, the diary quickly turned out to be a great support to her.
5. Class discussion on what Anne Frank said "Think of all the beauty in yourself and in everything around you and be happy." There will be times in your life that everything is going well and you will see all the beauty around you. Hold on to those moments, take them in and let their light warm you. In times that are difficult this light will shine and help you to find the strength to get by. Your light will join with others and, like Anne, push back the darkness to help you to find happiness in the worst of times.
