Description
Gender equality is an important aspect of life in modern societies. Through this film the students will be able to understand the positive steps that the European Union has made during the years towards gender equality that affects the life of all women in the EU. During this learning session students will use their vision (moving image & reading), hearing (sound) and touch (writing) to help them to retrieve useful information and learn effectively
Procedure on how to put in practice
The students will watch the film (duration 2min55sec) and then in groups will make a timeline poster with the most important milestones that are being mentioned (year & fact).
The teacher can assist the students by playing again the film and pause it whenever is necessary for the students to retrieve the information needed. Also by walking around the classroom, the teacher can discuss with the students their choices, answer any questions and reinforce their work and effort.
All groups will present their work and the posters will be displaced around the classroom as an example of their team work but also they can be used to indicate the history and the importance of gender equality. This session can be used as an opportunity for (future) discussion on how the gender equality has changed throughout the years at a national level
