Description
This video could represent an effective tool to introduce science to the students, creating a complete map of involved fields. The video could be used as a starting lesson to present science in a more dynamic way. To complete the lesson plan, each student will be invited to produce a map or a scheme using the video they have watched, and then to produce a video as a homework, to explain his/her personal the map. The second lesson is aimed to work on soft skills, as well as self-evaluation by using a check list produced by the pupils themselves. It allows to develop soft skills such as work in pair, peer-tutoring and the ability of a self-evaluation.
Procedure on how to put in practice
Lesson 1:
Duration: 1 h of classroom activity, homework
No of Participants: 10-50
Methods used: this activity is composed of two lessons, developing different competences. During the first lesson we have a watching and comprehension phase, followed by a producing phase resulting in notes and a personal map. The second lesson is based on self-evaluation competences, to be developed during these activities.

Step-by-step description:
1. 10 minutes. The teacher introduces the lesson: students will watch a video, then they’ll have to take notes during the video to produce a map or a scheme in class. After a brief debriefing, checking maps and answering questions, each student for homework has to produce a short video to explain the map of science (the teacher will give the standard rules, explaining assessing methods).
2. 25 minutes. The whole class watch a Youtube video, The map of maths. This phase should be repeated once or two times, to make majority of students able to take notes.
3. 15minutes: Time to build up a personal map using notes.
4. 10 minutes: debriefing and question time.

Lesson 2:
5. 10 minutes. The teacher presents a work-in- pair task: students have to discuss the main characteristics that a high-quality video should have.
6. 15 minutes. Producing the check list
7. 25 minutes. Each pair of students use their own check list to evaluate their videos
8. 10 minutes. Debriefing and evaluation of self- consciousness
