Description
Write & Improve is a free tool that helps students to improve their English writing online. The Write & Improve workbooks contain hundreds of writing tasks at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Students can use the tool by writing independently. Write & Improve helps them practise different types of writing and encourages them to think about how they can improve their writing. The tool gives automatic feedback and hints to show students where they need to make changes. The tool provides word, sentence-level and motivational feedback and a progress graph, so students can compare your latest piece of writing with their previous work. The tool has also a teachers’section. Teachers can choose tasks from the Write & Improve workbooks or create their own tasks based on their interests or homework. Write & Improve helps teachers get better insights into the needs of their students, see all their students’ writing and feedback, see progress reports against the international standard, the CEFR. The site could be used with students at risk of demotivation because the online interactive activities can be chosen according to students’ language level and their topics are interesting to students. The materials on the site can be used and applied in a fully virtual/at distance teaching context and in a blended learning environment.
